Exotic Basmati Rice
An exotic selection of basmati rice with all the beautiful features of the rice grain – smooth , extra- long lustrous grains with a smooth finish with a delicate aroma. Pearly white – originates from the heartland of Basmati growing regions of Punjab India.
COOKING INSTRUCTIONS
Boil on Stove Top
- Add 1 cup of rice and 5 cups of cold tap water to a saucepan.
- Leave uncovered and bring to a boil on a higher heat, stirring occasionally.
- Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 6 to 7 minutes until tender.
- Drain and rinse with more boiling water. Strain excess water in colander and serve.
Absorption Method
- Add 1 cup of rice and 1 and 2 cups of cold tap water to a saucepan.
- Add 1 TBS of butter or oil or margargarine; and salt to taste
- Bring to a boil on a medium to high heat stirring occasionally.
- Reduce heat and simmer covered for 9 to 10 minutes until tender stirring occasionally.
- Remove from heat and allow it to stand covered for 5 minutes and serve.
Rice Cooker Method
- Cook rice in a Rice Cooker with the following measurements
- For every 1 Cup Basmati Rice add 2 cups water cook in the rice cooker
For best results
- Soak the rice for 30 minutes in lukewarm water prior to cooking.
- Use a large cooking pot with wider base giving rice maximum space to expand.
- Do not prepare large quantity of rice in small pot.
